Longest gran fondo in South Africa. A day to be filled with cycling enthusiasts, fun and laughter!! We are hosting it at the best possible venue in Pretoria for everyone to challenge the distance they are able to ride, to enjoy cycling and to share the day with loved ones and friends!!!

About the Event
Smurfy 500 2020- A day not to be missed!!!
Entries are officially open!!!
Amidst all the chaos and uncertainty during 2020 you/ we deserve a fun filled day, doing what we love, challenging our own personal abilities while enjoying the day with friends, loved ones and other like-minded cyclists!!!
The 500km (Challenge) will start at 05h00 on 12 Dec 2020
The 250km/ laps at Boschkop will start at approximately 5h00, (but you are welcome to start at your own time throughout the day!)
Cut-off at 22h00 for last lap (dependent on safety and conditions on the event day)
Apart from the distance/ gran fondo challenge there will also be:
- "Dash for cash"- R10000 winner takes all for the Pro-ladies and Pro-men.
- 500km challenge overall winner- R50000
- Cycling club challenge to challenge the furthest distance of 3 riders from each club.
- Corporate challenge (enter your company- team of +- 10 riders)- if you are interested in doing the corporate challenge, please send me an email to provide you with what we are having in mind- but definitely more information and details to follow.
Entry fee will be R550 (excluding 500km challenge- R699), including:
- A pair of limited edition Smurfy socks (which will be your race number on the day)
- A safe as possible environment to ride your bike- with the help of the amazing Road rangers!
- A venue that caters for your family and loved ones while you cycle, to share in all the fun on the day! We are also organising a kiddies area with a possible area for the kids to also cycle and have fun on the bike).
